Not sure how many colors your design is?
Count the distinct solid ink colors in the artwork, not shades of the same color, and not the shirt itself.
- A logo in one flat color: 1 color. If that color is black, it prints with no underbase and it's our cheapest option.
- Two-tone text and a shape: 2 colors.
- A gradient, a photo, or a drop shadow: these can't be separated into flat inks. Use DTF instead; it has no color limit.
- More than about six colors: DTF is almost always cheaper than the screens.
Colored ink also needs a white underbase printed beneath it so it sits opaque rather than soaking in and going dull. That's a separate screen, which is why it prices as one extra color. You don't need to count it. We add it for you.
You don't have to get this exactly right. Send us the artwork and we'll confirm the real color count when we prepare your proof. If it differs from what you picked, we tell you the new price and you approve it before anything is charged or printed.

Adding a color adds a row. Printing two colors as one job shares the screens and counts the whole run toward the price break, so it costs less than ordering them separately.
